2017 EVENT DATE: Sunday, December 10th

Location:  Cypress Bay High School

18600 Vista Park Blvd., Weston, FL 33332

Our 2017 Coordinator:  Chairman Jesus Sanchez

Since 1998, the Weston Rotary Club has organized a December charity run that includes a 5K and a Half Marathon. In recent years, the Rotary Run for Tomorrow and Healthy and Fitness Festival has attracted thousands of participants and spectators to the Run For Tomorrow and the accompanying Get Fit Fest health and wellness festival in beautiful City of Weston in Broward County, FL.

The Weston Rotary has taken their message of fitness and healthy living into Weston elementary schools with the help of the The City of Weston. Weston Elementary school students can compete in the Mayor's Get Fit Challenge, and walk in the one-mile Family Health Walk immediately following the 5K and Half Marathon events. The school team with the highest percentage of participation wins the Mayor's Get Fit Challenge Cup, a cash prize, and bragging rights until next year.

Each year, Rotarians put in hundreds of volunteer hours to make this Run/Walk event a community highlight and a financial success. Dozens of fitness, health and lifestyle vendors staff booths at the Health and Fitness Festival with new products, games, food and wellness providing a great day of family fun for all ages.

The Run For Tomorrow & Get Fit Fest event is one of two major fundraising events organized annually by club members. Proceeds from the event go to fund three areas of Weston Rotary Club giving:
  • The Rotary Foundation’s international peace, education, health, and community development programs, in particular, Rotary International's worldwide effort to eliminate polio through our Polio Plus campaign.
  • Worthy local charitable organizations such as The Harvest Drive, Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center, Alexander “Sandy” Nininger State Veterans’ Nursing Home, Lifenet4Family (fka The Cooperative Feeding Center), HANDY, HOPE Outreach Center and many others
  • To promote health awareness and a fitness lifestyle for children and adults in our communities

The Rotary Club of Weston is fortunate to have many generous sponsors, partners, and donors, without whom this premiere Broward County event could not have grown to the exciting level of successful community participation it has. We thank each and every one of you, on behalf of those less fortunate who benefit.
